On August 23, 2005 AMD challenged Intel to a dual-core duel anytime during 2005—a public evaluation of the highest-performing Dual-Core AMD Opteron™ processor against the corresponding Intel x86 server processor that is commercially available in volume. The duel will be judged using industry-standard benchmarks only.
